Until I found these simple tasks, which would lead to improvement in battery life and also battery charge saving. The battery is an integral part of the laptop, and the irregular pattern of battery operation would contribute to a lot of troubles during your work. And it is also a costly affair to replace the battery when it fails before its lifetime.
Just for your GK, there are different types of batteries used in laptops, like Lithium-Ion (Li-ion), the one which is most popularly used nowadays, apart from Nickel-Cadmium (NiCad) and Nickel-metal Hydride (NiMH) which are almost obsolete now. Click on the battery icon on the notification area (right bottom) and move the level to the left or right to adjust your preference. Left is the Best battery life (consumes less energy) and right is for Best performance, which would consume more energy for sure. You may either set the level in the middle or on the left.
Method 2. Change in Settings > System > Battery
There are two ways to access Battery Settings page:

Please notice that you have multiple settings options provided in the section, as you may turn on ‘Battery Saver’ which will ultimately do the job for you without any hassles when the battery goes low beyond a preset level. This level can also be determined by you just below the Battery Saver setting.
This also permits you to control app usage of battery which can also be set by you. This setting will monitor app usage when your laptop is running on battery power only.
When the battery saver option is enabled, Windows will check and disable or limit the usage of the battery by all background applications and processes running at the time of low battery state set by you. This operation will enable you to keep your system live for an extended duration. To be mentioned, that latest version of Windows has got this option more effective compared to its previous ones.

Apart from them, MS also suggests using Microsoft Edge to save power, as MS Edge can save 36-53% of energy compared to all other popular browsers according to their claim. Additionally, you can also go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Power > Run the troubleshooter to check problems with your battery and power settings to ensure effective utilization of power and better energy saving.
Along with the above, use the below tips also to enhance your experience in energy saving:
- Always recharge your laptop before your battery is completely drained.
- Try to use Hibernation mode while you are away, instead of using Sleep mode.
- Never miss updating your OS. Keep it up to date. OS update may sometimes contain energy-saving additions.
- Use SSD drives instead of traditional Hard Disks. Which will enable your device to work smoothly and thus save energy.
- Control your brightness level. Try to keep it optimum instead of High.
- Deactivate all unused/rarely used devices/hardware in your device by visiting Device Manager.
- Try to keep your laptop cool, using some cooling system like Cooling Pad, etc. This will reduce energy consumption.
- Remove unwanted Services in Services Manager (press Windows+R and type MSConfig > Services and perform the task)
- Install Optimum RAM in your device.
- Keep a watch on your Graphical Interface. Ensure that you are checking its settings and make sure that they are active only during your games and permitted apps.
